Education

Quality learning and broader opportunities help young people, especially girls, build the foundation for their future.

The VAD Foundation works to raise the standard of education in South Sudan and advocate for girls’ inclusion in academic spaces. Our approach reaches beyond the classroom, with project-based learning, after-school activities, mentoring, alumni connections, and sustainability woven into students’ experience.

Farming

Hands-on sustainable agriculture training supports food security, stronger livelihoods, and community wellbeing.

Through horticulture, aquaculture, and animal husbandry, we teach students and community members practical, sustainable farming skills. School gardens provide fresh produce and hands-on agricultural learning, while community training supports farmers to grow food, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience.

Vocational Skills

Practical trade training and business skills help youth and women develop livelihoods and pursue work opportunities.

Our vocational program supports girls, women, and youth who have left school or completed their education to develop practical skills and livelihoods. Training in trades such as carpentry, mechanics, metalwork, welding, and masonry is paired with entrepreneurship and business-management skills to encourage small enterprise and employment.
